چکیده
The electrolyte is an essential component of a battery system since it responsible for the conduction ions between electrodes. In quest cheaper alternatives to common organic electrolytes lithium-ion batteries (LIB), we formulated hybrid comprising mixture Na, K, and Li alkaline salts with ethylene carbonate (EC), ethyl methyl (EMC), lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6), giving total salt concentration 1.5 M; determined their physicochemical properties investigated electrochemical behavior on nickel cobalt aluminum oxide (NCA) cathode graphite (Gr) anode. demonstrated melting transition peak (Tm), eutectic behavior, ionic conductivities (~13 mS cm?1) close those commercial LIB (SE, EC/EMC + 1 M LiPF6) activation energies ca. 3 kJ mol?1. half-cell coin cells revealed high coulombic efficiency (99%), specific capacity (175 mAh g?1 at C/10), retention (92% NaCF3SO3) NCA moderate performance (coulombic 98% 20 cycles) anode after formation SEI layer. were cycled 25 °C in Gr//NCA cell yielding capacities 225 C/5 rate, corroborating that anion plays key role highlighting potential energy storage applications.

Anion-redox nanolithia cathodes for Li-ion batteries
The development of lithium–air batteries is plagued by a high potential gap (>1.2V) between charge and discharge, and poor cyclability due to the drastic phase change of O2 (gas) and O (condensed phase) at the cathode during battery operations. Here we report a cathode consisting of nanoscale amorphous lithia (nanolithia) confined in a cobalt oxide, enabling charge/discharge between solid Li2O/...

Rechargeable batteries made from low-cost and abundant materials operating in safe aqueous electrolytes are attractive for large-scale energy storage. Sodium-ion battery is considered as a potential alternative of current lithium-ion battery. As sodium-intercalation compounds suitable for aqueous batteries are limited, we adopt a novel concept of Li(+)/Na(+) mixed-ion electrolytes to create two...
متن کاملNovel Solid Electrolytes for Li-Ion Batteries: A Perspective from Electron Microscopy Studies
Solid electrolytes can simultaneously overcome two of the most formidable challenges of Li-ion batteries: the severe safety issues and insufficient energy densities. However, before they can be implemented in actual batteries, the ionic conductivity needs to be improved and the interface with electrodes must be optimized. The prerequisite for addressing these issues is a thorough understanding ...
متن کاملHighly conformal electrodeposition of copolymer electrolytes into titania nanotubes for 3D Li-ion batteries
The highly conformal electrodeposition of a copolymer electrolyte (PMMA-PEO) into self-organized titania nanotubes (TiO2nt) is reported. The morphological analysis carried out by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy evidenced the formation of a 3D nanostructure consisting of a copolymer-embedded TiO2nt. The thickness of the copolymer layer can be accurately controll...
متن کاملInteraction of High Flash Point Electrolytes and PE-Based Separators for Li-Ion Batteries
In this study, promising electrolytes for use in Li-ion batteries are studied in terms of interacting and wetting polyethylene (PE) and particle-coated PE separators. The electrolytes are characterized according to their physicochemical properties, where the flow characteristics and the surface tension are of particular interest for electrolyte-separator interactions. The viscosity of the elect...
